Mundulla

Mundulla is a small but thriving town set in beautiful big red gum country, just 10 kilometres southwest of Bordertown.

As well as having the best farming land in the state, Mundulla has been judged ‘Best Small Town in SA’ for three consecutive years, culminating in being awarded ‘South Australia’s Best Town’ in 2015.

A wide range of period rural architecture is on show in Mundulla, with a number of original Mundulla houses dating from the early 1900s. Of particular interest are the ironclad cottages, some old but still well maintained, and others newly completed.

Pride and community spirit is reflected in the town’s excellent sporting and service facilities. The picturesque Mundulla Showground is the venue for most sports and the Mundulla Show and Moot Yang Gunya Festival held on the first weekend in March is one of the biggest events in the Limestone Coast region.

The adventure playground is a feature at the oval, close to public conveniences and the sheltered electric BBQ.  This makes it an ideal picnic spot, with camping available for stopover travellers.

Also popular is the Bowling Club that has installed a synthetic green and serves low cost Friday night teas during summer. The General Store offers a range of takeaway food options, and dining is available at The Old Mundulla Hotel, Wednesday through to Sunday.
